March 31 - Kissimmee, FL
Ran some errands earlier in the day and then we went to Medieval Times for dinner and a tournament. Larry had never been to the show and he was so excited. Our seats were in the front row and dead center. The sand in front of us smelled like kitty-litter. We were able to have beer or wine and a fairly good dinner. You ate everything with your hands. Tomato-bisque soup and garlic bread was the first course. The main entrée was chicken, ribs and potatoes with a pastry for dessert. Knights on Andalusian stallions came out and battled for tournament trophies. As they charge towards each other, you can feel the vibration of the horses hooves in the sand and see the sparks as the lances collide. Each section has a knight that they cheer for to win the tournament. Medieval Times is the largest single owner of Andalusians in the United States. They have approximately 300 horses at the eight North American Castles and on the 241 acre Medieval Times Chapel Creek Ranch in Sanger, Texas. I had the best time watching Larry. He was like a kid. He absolutely loved it and looked very stylish in his paper crown. We had lots of fun.
